The rules are simple: I put the self-timer on 2 seconds, push the button and try to get as far from the camera as I can.

You will probably get further away from the camera if you try not to run in sight of the lens :-P
I'm surprised that you never knocked over your tripod and smashed the camera while trying to get away as fast as possible.

Most excellent! Be careful about someone grabbing your camera and running the other way, though -- you're giving them at least a 5-6 second head start.

For some reason you remind me of the main assassin's creed character, or someone from a computer game, controlling the character as they run through various landscapes and go on cool adventures to new places!

The author is really cool. But some of the commentators are just posting stupid words.
Interesting photo, usually people snap as they are running to the camera not from it :), it looks like a police photo from the crime scene :)
